Job Summary:
Job role is responsible for the preparation and ensuring proper calculation and handling of tax-related matters in the Company.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Payroll Accounting:
  • Prepare, analyze and implement payroll transactions such as payments of hours worked, employees’ overtime, employee benefits, application of benefit deductions on a timely manner. Carry out all reporting, technical and administrative functions in staff benefits and payroll aspects.
  • Prepare and analyze periodic payroll reports, payroll schedules and payroll-related journal entries using established Company and financial policies, procedures and guidelines on a timely manner.
  • Prepare, analyze and implement payroll transactions on a timely manner such as payments of hours worked, employees’ overtime, employee benefits, application of benefit deductions.
  • Analyze payroll reports, statements and records; make recommendations to improve payroll processes.
  • Prepare and review the accuracy of payroll-related journal entries; perform account reconciliation and analysis while ensuring supporting documentation is accurate and in compliance with Company policies.
  • Evaluate and implement appropriate payroll policies, controls and payroll processing and system enhancements to increase efficiency.
  • Prepare payroll audit schedules and assist/coordinate the audit of accounting statements/reports.
  • Coordinate all Payroll matters with other departments, branches and business units.
  • Inform Management of needed modifications or reviews in response to regulations and laws relevant to such matters. Recommend and supervise modifications in Company Payroll & supporting processes in response to of the need for such changes.
  • Providing detailed and insightful payroll analysis to shape business policy outcomes.
  • Tax & Statutory Remittances:
  • Review monthly PAYE computations for compliance; filing of tax returns in line with statutory deadlines to avoid regulatory penalties preparing payroll for the Organization.
  • Effective management of PAYE tax audits to eliminate all tax risk exposure for the Business
  • Manage the process of year-end Company Income Tax computation with external consultants, ensuring timely processing of tax clearance certifications.
  • Remittances of statutory and non-statutory deductions in line with applicable statutes and business guidelines.
  • Maintain and update Management knowledge of relevant legislative materials by reviewing, interpreting and implementing new or revised laws.
  • Maintain Echo-Scan’s compliance with taxation regulations by forwarding required information to federal and state authorities.
  • Identify profitability of potential mergers and acquisitions by analyzing tax information; calculating key ratios, identifying areas of tax savings.
  • Accumulate, analyze and process financial accounting data in order to prepare tax returns, estimate tax payments, forecasts and financial accounting estimates of tax.
  • Implementing strategies to minimize corporate tax liability in accordance with current tax laws.

Education, Qualifications & Experience
Education
  • Minimum of a BSc or HND in Accounting, Taxation, Finance or related field.
  • Post Graduate Studies
  • Membership of ICAN/ACCA is compulsory
  • CITN will be an added advantage
  • Previous Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of payroll and tax management experience.
  • Possess strong knowledge of tax law, statutory regulations basic familiarity requirements relating to healthcare management.
