Job Summary

Monitor organization’s operational activities to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

Internal Control Activities

Verify I.O.U. advances and payment vouchers prior to disbursement.

Conduct audit visits to branch and satellite locations as required.

Conduct special audits and investigations as required.

Verify final entitlements of exiting staff prior to disbursement.

Assist in the review of Bank Reconciliation Statements as required.

Draft daily reports on audit activities, observations and action(s) taken on assigned tasks.

Review monthly fuel usage and telephone usage reports

Assist in the verification of Sales and Aftersales commissions and incentives.

Verify cash balance of Petty, Workshop, Delivery and Stationery Imprest.

General Responsibilities

Prepare/ compile agreed periodic activity and performance reports for the attention of management as required

Perform any other duties as assigned by Head, Internal Control.

Key Performance Indicators

Internal customer satisfaction indices

Timely and accurate reporting on internal audit findings

Timely and accurate verification of incentives and commissions

Timely and accurate monitoring and reporting on fuel allocation and usage

Accurate verification of all payments prior to disbursement

Timely review of motor vehicle and after sales debtor accounts

Education and Work Experience

Bachelor’s or HND degree in Finance, Accounting or any related discipline from a reputable tertiary institution

Postgraduate/professional qualification in a related discipline will be an advantage

Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a similar role

Skills and Competencies

In-depth knowledge of internal control processes and procedures

Good knowledge of organizational policies and procedures across departments.

Attention to detail and accuracy

High level of integrity, responsibility and accountability

Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office productivity tools and relevant finance and accounting applications
