Job Title: Head of Internal Services (HIS) - Middle Management 
 
Role Summary
The Head of Internal Services (HIS) coordinates and supervises the facilities engineering activities of the school and conducts specialized and complex facilities engineering work in support of maintenance  and construction activities; 
 
The preferred Candidate would be responsible for:
  • Overseeing the development of predictive, preventive and reliability centred maintenance programs, including maintenance check sheets, predictive maintenance   techniques.
  • Providing advice and consultation on engineering matters, including compliance with federal/state laws and regulations;
  • Coordinates facilities engineering related project activities with facility services provider assigned to the college premises;
  • Prepares, negotiates and administers contracts for specialized facilities maintenance work;
  • Preparing budgets for maintenance projects, overseeing project execution, resolving complex work problems, recommending contract change orders,
 
Person Specification, Skills, Qualification and work experience:
  • First degree in mechanical or electrical engineering;
  • Professional membership and alliances e.g. OSHA, NSE etc.
  • 8years mechanical or electrical engineering with at least five years in a supervisory and project related role.
  • Excellent Project management skills, a qualification/certification in project management would be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of Engineering principles, practices, theories and technologies related to equipment controls, mechanical or electrical/electronic systems and processes; 
  • Knowledge and experience of the techniques and procedures of engineering project management
