Controller of Finance is vacancy in an Oil and Gas company in Lagos
Our Client, a group of company in the Oil and Gas, Construction and Real Estate sector is looking for a results-driven and confident Financial Controller to manage and improve the organization's financial performance and direct our accounting operations. Duties for the Financial Controller will include managing accounting records, evaluating and managing risk, ensuring compliance with regulations, publishing financial statements, overseeing accounting operations, analysing financial data, monitoring expenditure, forecasting revenue, coordinating auditing processes, reporting to investors and stakeholders and ensuring accuracy of financial information.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Ø Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial, commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
Ø Monitor expenditure, analyze revenues and determine budget variances and report the same to management.
Ø Develops, maintain and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
Ø Generate financial reports and statements to Management for review.
Ø Analyze financial discrepancies and recommend effective resolutions
Ø Respond to accounting inquiries from management in a timely fashion.
Ø Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities for assigned accounts.
Ø Introduce and implementation of sound accounting principles, capable of ensuring smooth operations and effective running of the company.
Ø Responsible for the preparation of the company’s monthly cash flow instrument for the attention of the MD.
Ø Responsible for the day-to-day business affairs of the entire department.
Ø Review and recommend changes to existing accounting procedures.
Ø It shall be your sole responsibility to ensure that Daily, Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Reports prepared by the accounting team are accurate and professionally put together.
Ø Implement quality management and regulatory compliance strategies (VAT, PAYE).
Ø Perform financial analysis and reporting to management as needed.
Ø Evaluate computerized accounting systems and provide recommendations to IT team for performance improvements.
Ø Assist in auditing activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentations
Ø Monitor and record financial transactions according to company policies and regulations.
Ø Administer all accounts and budgets for various departments, perform audits on tax and prepare reports.
Educational and Competencies Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree/HND in Accounting
- At least 5 years’ experience in similar role.
- Membership of ICAN.
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles, standards and practices to efficiently monitor the business' budgeting and cashflow modelling framework.
- Good understanding of IFRS and relevant Tax law
- Demonstrated capacity carrying out statutory & tax computations for prompt filing and ability to establish and maintain good client relationships, both internally and externally at all levels
- Capacity to manage and maintain accurate financial records and ensure the company's accounts are up-to-date & in compliance with applicable standards & requirements.
- Proficiency in the use of accounting software
- Capacity to conduct periodic analytical reviews of the business' monthly operating results while continually enhance the business' operating profit margin.
