 St. Dominic Catholic Hospital is a 64 bed hospital located in Ogungbade off New Ife road Ibadan. St Dominic Catholic Hospital is the vision of Dominican Sisters of St Catherine of Siena (Italy). We offer various medical services such as: General medicine, internal medicine, O & G, Laboratory, Radiology, to mention just a few. The hospital is run in collaboration with foreign partners. We are registered and licensed by the Corporate Affairs Commission and the Ministry of Health. Also, we are accredited by the NHIS as both primary and secondary health care providers.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Registered Nurse / Midwife

Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • The Community Nurse/Midwife provides high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals and families in the community, promoting health, preventing disease, and supporting self-care.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for patients.
  • Provide nursing/midwifery care in various settings, including clinics, and community.
  • Conduct health assessments, screenings, and diagnostic tests.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and vaccinations.
  • Educate patients and families on healthy habits, disease prevention, and self-care techniques.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, social workers, and therapists.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including patient data and progress notes.
  • Participate in community outreach and health promotion initiatives.

Requirements

  • Registered Community Nurse (RCN) or Registered Community Midwife (RCM) with current licensure.
  • Experience in community health nursing/midwifery (or related field).
  • Strong communication, assessment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with electronic health records (EHRs) and digital health technologies.
  • Knowledge of community resources and partnerships.
