Job Title: Sales Engineer

Reports to: Head of Power
Job Requirements
The Sales Engineer’s role is responsible and accountable for the following areas:
1. Sales of power products which include generators, inverters, batteries, solar products.
2. Observe competition activities, launch new products and enhance existing customer performance.
3. Identify new customers, new segments & new markets.
4. Study the market pricing of competitive products and make recommendations accordingly.
5. Monitor customer stock and check how much EMEL stock he has viz -a viz competition that is moving out of customer warehouse.
6. Identify slow-moving items and find out why the items are not selling. Suggest way forward to improve goods movement.
7. Visit markets within and outside Lagos twice a month for meeting customers, reconcile accounts, understand problems and identify new customers
8. Make recommendations with respect to procurement of products – Check, assess and verify existing orders and re-orders based on customer stock, sales, goods in transit and credit capability.
Qualifcations & Qualities
- OND/HND or a graduate in Engineering or Marketing or Business Management or Economics
- Must have at least 3 years experience in sales with knowledge of Nigeria markets of power products.
- IT skills must include above average ability to work on Excel and MS Word
- Fluent in spoken English and adept at written skills in English
- Ideally, exposure of working within a multi-cultural environment.
- Must be willing to travel within Lagos and outstation markets.
- In order to be successful in this role, the candidate must be a self motivated, confident, enthusiastic and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Acts with honour and character – A person of high integrity who is direct and truthful but at the same time can keep confidences.
